Geralds Bar opened in 2006 in the leafy Rathdowne Street Village. Born out of an idea bouncing around in Gerald’s head to have a local wine bar filled with a collection of ephemera, play his vinyl collection, and serve good booze & simple food.

Crowned the 2010 Gourmet Traveller Australian Bar of the Year, Geralds Bar was often replicated, imitated, and impersonated, but never duplicated.

2025 saw our northern suburbs institution, Geralds Bar, move around the corner to its current location on Lygon Street, giving Gerald and Mario the opportunity to realise all the ideas born out of late night conversations had over wine and cigarettes.
